The History of Twitter

According to CE Noticias Financieras, Twitter (now known as X) is described as, “a microblogging service in which people can issue opinions, make different responses to users or upload all kinds of content through the application, which has a format for viewing tweets in real time.”  Created in March 2006 and launched that June, Twitter now has 300 million users with 65 million total tweets daily. These tweets have a max of 280 characters, which was previously 140 characters. Elon Musk bought Twitter for 2640 million dollars, transcending in April 2022. Changes that Musk made regarding verification is that now users can independently subscribe to twitter blue ($8 a month). Essentially meaning that people can have the “blue tick” without being famous. Regarding freedom of speech, hateful tweets will be removed. There will also be no bans, Trump returned to Twitter after Musk posted a poll with Trump's return to Twitter winning at 51%.
